We’re celebrating Muhlenberg Township’s 175th and America’s 250th birthdays with a free concert at Jim Dietrich Park! This Sunday, July 26, from 2–4 p.m., the Ringgold Band will hold a special patriotic performance for attendees.

I’m excited to share that the Exeter Township Volunteer Fire Department received $1.5 million in funding from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program.

The funds will go toward constructing a new Exeter Township Emergency Services building. The current site is vacant, with plans to construct a one- to two-story building. The facility will include a fire station with apparatus bays and associated storage, kitchen/dining areas, showers/bathroom, sleeping quarters, and more.

Our volunteer firefighters put themselves in danger every day to protect our communities. They deserve a facility that gives them the resources they need to do that job safely and effectively.

I was proud to work with state and local partners to advocate for this funding, and I'm excited to see this project move forward for the benefit of our incredible first responders and everyone they serve.

Pennsylvania’s new Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit has already delivered nearly $217 million in tax relief to more than 876,000 Pennsylvanians during the 2025 tax filing season. As additional tax returns are processed, the Shapiro Administration expects the program to provide approximately $220 million to as many as 940,000 residents by the end of the year.

Created as part of the 2025-26 state budget, the WPTC is modeled after the federal Earned Income Tax Credit and provides eligible working families with a state tax credit equal to 10% of their federal EITC, worth up to $805 in its first year.

The credit is helping families cope with rising everyday costs by putting more money back into their pockets. It is Pennsylvania’s first new tax credit in more than 50 years specifically designed to support workers and their families.

The Department of Revenue streamlined the process by automatically calculating the credit for many online filers and has launched an online eligibility calculator to help more Pennsylvanians determine whether they qualify.

Earlier this month, I joined colleagues, local officials, and community leaders at Owatin Elementary, which will house a 1.25-megawatt solar array, saving the district more than $10 million over 30 years!

I also advocated for the Senate to pass my Solar-Ready Warehouses bill. This commonsense legislation would help put Pennsylvania’s millions of square feet of warehouse rooftops to work, expanding affordable solar energy and creating enough clean, low-cost electricity to power more than 1 million Pennsylvania homes.

It’s a smart investment in our economy, our energy future, and lower utility costs for Pennsylvania families!
