Third-Quarter Law Enforcement Caucus
|
I hosted the third-quarter bipartisan Law Enforcement Caucus meeting in Harrisburg this past week, where I serve as co-chair alongside Rep. Eric Weaknecht.
As a former law enforcement officer myself, I understand the challenges officers face and the importance of supporting those who work to keep our communities safe.
The meeting focused on several key topics, including reforming the red-light camera system, and House Bill 2190, which addresses labor relations involving police unions. We also discussed firearm training frequency requirements for law enforcement officers.
These discussions took place with our advisory board, which is made up of various stake holders in law enforcement, including state troopers, the FOP, and local police chiefs. This provided an opportunity to hear different perspectives, address challenges facing law enforcement, and explore potential improvements to support officers and the communities they serve.
I look forward to continuing these conversations with my fellow legislators and law enforcement professionals as we work to address public safety concerns throughout the Commonwealth.

Over a Million in Grant Money for Ivyland Borough
|
This past week, I was honored to join members of the Ivyland Borough government and Senator Frank Farry to present a check to the Borough for $994,271 for the Greeley Avenue storm sewer extension project.
Pictured are also two additional checks for grant money that the state brought into Ivyland Borough, including $26,250 for the Ivyland Fire Company.
I am always looking for ways to bring resources back to our communities to fund our first responders and improve existing infrastructure. I am proud to say we were able to secure $1,267,280 in total for our constituents in Ivyland Borough!

Notice of Upcoming Medicaid Changes
|
Changes to Medicaid, also known as Medical Assistance in Pennsylvania, are coming on January 1, 2027, because of changes to federal law. More information is expected to be released, but here is what you need to know for now:
- Some adults will need to renew their Medicaid Plan every six months instead of annually.
- A new requirement means some adults enrolled in Medicaid will need to participate in work, school, job training, volunteering, or other community activities.
If you receive Medicaid, now is a good time to make sure your mailing address and contact information are up to date with DHS so you don’t miss important notices about these changes.

Bucks County’s vote-by-mail season is officially underway, with the first mail ballots already being sent to voters. Prefer to handle your mail-in ballot in person? Seven “on-demand” locations are now open across the county.
On-demand voting allows you to go to a designated location, request a mail-in ballot, fill it out on site, and return it immediately. You don’t have to wait for a ballot to arrive in the mail or visit the post office.
On-demand locations include the Board of Elections office, Government Services Centers in Quakertown and Levittown, the Warminster Township Free Library, and Bucks County Community College campuses. Each location also has a secure ballot drop box staffed by a Board of Elections employee during operating hours.
The deadline to request a mail-in ballot is October 27. Completed ballots must be returned by 8 p.m. on Election Day, November 3.
