Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I hope you find this week’s News and Events email helpful as we look at what’s coming up in and around the district.  As always, my team and I are here to help you with any state-related matter and are happy to provide as much information as we can.

Whether you need a service, want to share your concerns, offer ideas, or drop off a donation for one of our drives, we’d love to see you at my district office during our walk-in hours of 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday. Alternatively, feel free to reach out at (215) 517-6800 or via email at RepSanchez@pahouse.net.

The New Armenian Heritage Walk

Last weekend I was honored to join many members of the Armenian community for the official dedication of their brand-new Armenian Heritage Walk in Philadelphia that honors Armenian history and culture as well as celebrates Armenian American perseverance.

This impressive stretch of walkway is formed around the Young Meher Statue alongside the Philadelphia Museum of Art and is a work of art of its own with the careful placement of landscaping and Armenian boulders throughout. The planning and implementation of this project took years of work by dedicated collaborators and the results are stunning.

Thank you to my colleagues in the House, Representatives Keith Harris and Tarik Khan for joining me to celebrate this meaningful occasion. Learn more about the Armenian Heritage Foundation and the Walk itself by visiting www.armenianheritagewalk.org and be sure to visit this beautiful spot next time you're in the Art Museum area.

Supporting our Child Care Centers

Last week I was happy to spend some time with the students and staff of Redeemer Health Child Care Center to learn about their unique programs and the incredible care that their hardworking faculty and staff have been providing for our youngest community members for the past 40 years.

During "Month of the Young Child" and always, it's important to support those who lay the foundation of education and love of learning. I am grateful for the child care and preschool programs across the commonwealth for readying our youngest learners for their k-12 schooling and instilling a love of learning that will hopefully last a lifetime.

Cutting the Ribbon on Environmental Improvements in our Community

Gina raising her hand to take the oath to become a notary public.
Last Wednesday, Earth Day, I had the honor of speaking at the Ribbon Cutting event for the completion of an Environmental Infrastructure Improvement Project that spanned ten years of coordination, planning and hard work by Abington Township in partnership with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers with funding coming from multiple places including every level of government.

The work completed in Roychester and Grove parks will greatly impact the runoff conditions in both parks and restore the ecosystem function along this stretch of Sandy Run Creek. This is what practical investment in our communities looks like. What used to be a struggling stretch of the creek is now a healthier, more natural space that people and wildlife can benefit from for years to come.

Thank you to all of those included in making this come to fruition.

Join us for our Annual Senior Fair on May 15th!

It's that time of year again!

We can't wait to welcome everyone back to the Operating Engineers, Local 542 for our annual Senior Resource Fair. I will once again join my colleagues Representatives Cerrato and Guenst as we host over 40 local, state and county resources ready to connect with our aging adult population.

Join us from 11am to 1pm on Friday, May 15th. We hope to see you there!
