Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I know you didn't expect to see an email from me in your inbox this week; however, with the impending weather event we are supposed to have this weekend, I wanted to send a special Weather Edition of my biweekly email.  Below, you will find as much information and as many helpful links as I could find in one place, in case you need to find them quickly.

If snow predictions come true, it looks like my office will not be open to the public on Monday. We will be working remotely, so if you need anything, do not hesitate to reach out by calling (215) 517-6800 or emailing repsanchez@pahouse.net.

❄️Be careful and stay safe.⛄

Sincerely,

State Representative Ben Sanchez

❄️Plan Ahead❄️

Please be sure to plan ahead to keep yourselves safe. The PA Emergency Management Agency put together a handy checklist to help.

I would also like to add:

❄️ Check on your neighbors, especially the older adults in your neighborhood.

❄️ Check on your family, like parents and grandparents, and make sure they’re taken care of.

❄️ Keep your pets inside as much as possible and keep walks and outdoor bathroom breaks short. Don’t forget to check their paws; remember that the “salt” on the ground is actually chemicals.

❄️ Keep your pathways and sidewalks clear in case of an emergency. Ask for help if you need it.

❄️ If you don’t need to drive somewhere, don’t. (Thank you to our essential workers who aren’t able to stay home.)

❄️PECO Preparation Email❄️

You may have received an email from PECO with helpful links and tips to get through the storm in case of an outage.  If not, I have added the information below.

From PECO:

PECO is closely monitoring weather forecasts and preparing for potential snow and winter weather this weekend. Our crews and employees are taking steps now to be ready to respond quickly and safely to any outages that may occur.

It is also important to take a few steps now to be prepared and know how to stay connected with us ahead of any possible severe weather or outages.

Stay in touch.

If your lights go out, we offer several ways for you to report your outage. Save these links and numbers now so they are easily accessible if you need them.

- Download our PECO mobile app to quickly report an outage from a mobile device. The app will also provide notifications as the outage status is updated.

- Utilize our two-way texting program for reporting an outage and receiving updates. By texting “ADDOUTAGE” to MYPECO (697326), you can enroll in the program, report outages, and check the status of an outage through text. To use this service, your mobile number must be registered with the account.

- Report an outage online, including on a smartphone or tablet, by providing the account or phone number.

- Use our interactive outage map to report an outage and for the most up-to-date outage information.

- Call us directly at 1-800-841-4141 to report an outage or natural gas emergency.

- If you smell natural gas or see downed power lines, leave the area immediately and call 1-800-841-4141. Representatives are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Stay Safe.

Always stay away from damaged electrical equipment, especially downed power lines and tree limbs that may come into contact with power lines.

Don't connect your generator directly to your home's wiring. Never use a generator indoors or in an attached garage. Read and adhere to the manufacturer's instructions for safe operation.
