This week, in the City of York, the House of Yoga celebrated its 10th anniversary!
The House of Yoga has been at the heart of York for a decade now. The organization believes in a donation-based, member-supported community and offers the people of York a fantastic, judgment-free zone.
Congratulations!

On Wednesday, I joined Representative Bradford to host an Advocacy Day for workers' rights and advocate for various issues, including raising the minimum wage!
This rally was part of a broader effort to support public sector workplace safety laws and increase minimum wages.
|
In addition, it was with great honor that I stood in the House of Representatives to open Wednesday’s session with a prayer.
My prayer focused on asking God to deliver us from being double-minded and from wavering in our faith. I prayed for freedom from fear, hesitation, doubt, and anything that hinders our obedience to Him. I asked the Lord to strengthen our trust in His promises, give us steadfast faith, and help us walk confidently in His will with unwavering hearts.

As we work through budget season once again, I'd like to highlight several pieces of legislation that have progressed through the House this week.
|
House Bill 2446: Passing the House on Monday, Representative James Haddock's legislation would establish the Fire Company Transformational Grant Program administered through the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.
This program would distribute $30 million annually through a grant program that recognizes the need for larger, longer-term investment in firefighting resources.
Our firefighters deserve our everlasting respect and support; I was happy to vote to move this legislation forward.
HB2446 now moves to the state Senate for consideration.
|
House Bill 2109: Also on Monday, Representative Tarik Khan's legislation, nicknamed the “Golden Girls Law,” that would prevent arbitrary limits on unrelated roommates, except where true health and safety standards apply, passed the House.
These limits make housing harder to come by and prevents people – especially older people – from sharing space and saving money, while simultaniusly opening up more places to live for other buyers and renters.
In voting for this legislation, my fellow legislators and I seek to expand housing options, help people afford to stay in their communities, and modernize housing policies.
HB2109 now moves to the state Senate for consideration.
|
House Bill 2337: On Wednesday, HB2337, introduced by Representative Ed Neilson passed the House.
The bills seeks to give our cities the option to enact local ordinances with stronger penalties for off-road vehicle use on city streets than what is currently prescribed by state law.
This will allow our cities to adopt stronger ordinances and combat the dangerous use of off-road vehicles on city streets, and increase safety for everyone living, working, and visiting our urban centers.
HB2109 now moves to the state Senate for consideration.
|
House Bill 2550: Also on Wednesday, the House passed Representative Jennifer Mazzocco's legislation that establishes a tax credit for small businesses.
Specifically, those with 50 or fewer employees who contribute toward their employees’ health insurance premiums through a health reimbursement arrangement for insurance purchased through PENNIE.
The legislation includes important safeguards related to the quality of health insurance purchased.
Small businesses are the heart of Pennsylvania's economy, and I'm honored to vote to support them again this session.
HB2550 now moves to the state Senate for consideration.

SUN Bucks is a federal program that provides eligible children’s families with a SNAP-like benefit to purchase food for the summer months when school is not in session.
Most eligible children will automatically receive the benefit and do not need to apply, including those who already receive free and reduced-price school meals through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) during the school year.
