Take Advantage of Sun Bucks!

Parents and guardians! Before Summer ends, take advantage of the SUN Bucks program!
The deadline is August 31.
The federal Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer program, also known as SUN Bucks or Summer EBT, helps eligible families afford groceries during the summer months when their children don’t have access to free and reduced-price meals at school.

College and Career Saving Program Opportunities
|
Pennsylvania families with qualified PA 529 College and Career Saving Program Guaranteed Savings Plan (GSP) accounts could receive a $1,000 bonus contribution, enhancing education savings for about 107,000 Pennsylvania families.
The bonus is being paid for through surplus dollars in the GSP Fund. As of June 30, the GSP fund was 156.04% funded, reflecting a surplus of $1.06 billion. Nearly 107 million in surplus funds will be distributed across 106,914 PA 529 GSP accounts, representing 89% of participants in the plan.
PA 529 GSP savers with at least a $1,000 account balance, or those with at least a $100 balance with contributions made since 2022, as of July 31, are eligible for this bonus deposit. Account owners will see this deposit reflected in their third-quarter statement.

PA Treasury launches new Financial Education Hub
|
The PA Treasury has launched a new online Financial Education Hub, providing a centralized collection of resources to help Pennsylvanians improve their financial literacy and make informed financial decisions.
The hub covers topics including budgeting, saving, retirement planning, digital assets and cryptocurrency, along with information about Treasury programs such as PA 529, Keystone Scholars, and PA ABLE. Resources are tailored to groups including students, teachers, active-duty military members, veterans, and older adults.
The Financial Education Hub is available at patreasury.gov/financial-education.

General Election Deadline Reminders
|
As we approach the General Election on Tuesday, November 3, here are some key dates to remember:
- Monday, Oct. 19 – Last day to register to vote.
- Tuesday, Oct. 27– Last day to apply for an absentee or mail-in ballot.
- Tuesday, Nov. 3 – Election Day: Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Voters must be in line by 8 p.m. to cast their ballot. Mail-in and absentee ballots must be received by your county election office by 8 p.m.
