Governor Shapiro’s Housing Action Plan
|
Last Thursday, Governor Josh Shapiro announced Pennsylvania’s first-ever comprehensive Housing Action Plan to address critical housing needs across the Commonwealth, outlining the current state of housing, providing projections on housing needs, and offering nearly thirty strategic initiatives to ensure that every Pennsylvanian has access to safe, stable, and affordable housing.
We all deserve a place to call home.
The price of housing here in Montgomery County is making it harder than ever for people to find affordable housing. I’m proud to fight alongside Gov. Shapiro so you can have your piece of the American Dream that’s perfect for you and your family.
The Housing Action Plan cuts red tape so more housing can be built, and existing housing can be revitalized so everyone has a chance to afford their first home. The plan puts you and your neighbors first – not the private equity firms buying up vacant properties as investments or short-term rentals. The plan helps homeowners and renters address the cost of living.
The plan is all about Main Street and Elm Street – not Wall Street – and it includes investing in infrastructure, schools, jobs, and everything else we need to keep our district a great place to live, work, and raise a family.

PECO UPDATE in Upper Moreland Township
|
PECO has been working along Huntingdon Road, Terwood Road, Greenwood Drive, Red Barn Road, Division Avenue, Overlook Avenue, and Edge Hill Road in UM Township to upgrade and install new equipment to modernize and enhance the local electric infrastructure.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the construction has been delayed, and the project is expected to be completed by late March 2026.
Crews may need to temporarily interrupt electric service to safely complete some of this work. PECO will work with customers to ensure you are informed in advance of their activities and any planned interruptions. To ensure you receive all outage updates, please confirm that your phone number is accurate in their system through MyAccount at peco.com/myaccount or by calling PECO at 1-800-494-4000.
