Wanted - Lying Groundhog!
|
This past Monday was Groundhog Day, one of Pennsylvania's longest standing traditions dating back to the 1800's. However, after Phil's latest prediction of six more weeks of winter I think it might be time to send him packing. #ImOverWinter

Ghosts seen at the Capitol!
|
It was an honor to welcome the PIAA State Champions, Abington Senior High School’s Varsity Soccer Team, to Harrisburg to be recognized by Speaker of the House McClinton on the floor of the PA House of Representatives. It was great to spend some time with these incredible boys, their coaches, Principal Dr. Alice Swift, Athletic Director Charles Grasty and Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Fecher.
I was proud to present them each with citations honoring their huge accomplishment and was glad to be able to honor Coach Randy Garber in person for his years of commitment to this team before his retirement from coaching.
Congratulations again on this historic win for the school district and go Ghosts!

Multimodal Transportation Funding Awarded
|
$1.5 million State Grant is coming to Abington Township.
This funding reflects the importance of coordinated state and local efforts to improve transportation infrastructure. Projects like this benefit drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, transit riders, and local businesses alike.
The Abington-Jenkintown Connections Project is a multi-phase pedestrian and stormwater improvement effort designed to enhance connectivity and infrastructure along Washington Lane, Jenkintown Road, Greenwood Avenue, and Meetinghouse Road. Planning for the project began in August 2017 under the leadership of the Abington Township Board of Commissioners and is being completed in collaboration with Jenkintown Borough.
