Job and Resource Fair slated for May 2
|
If you’re looking for new career opportunities or a fresh start, I have a great event just for you. I’m excited to invite you to a Job and Resource Fair that I’m hosting alongside my colleague, State Rep. Jim Prokopiak. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 2, at Bucks County Technical High School, 610 Wistar Rd, in Fairless Hills.
This fair will bring together a variety of organizations, including multiple unions, branches of the U.S. military, and local companies—all looking to connect with job seekers. If you’re planning to attend, I encourage you to dress professionally and bring copies of your résumé.
In addition to meeting with potential employers, my staff and Rep. Prokopiak’s staff will be on hand to provide information and answer questions about state programs and resources available to Pennsylvania residents.
Please note that an RSVP is requested.
I hope to see you there.

ICYMI: Make your voice heard on PECO's proposed rate increases
|
I’ve heard from many residents who are already stretched by rising costs for groceries, housing, and other essentials. Against that backdrop, PECO recently filed a request with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission to raise electric rates by 12.5% and natural gas rates by 11.4%. If the request is approved, the average household would see their monthly electric bill increase by about $20 and their natural gas bill increase by about $14.50. These increases would only make things harder for families already facing tight budgets.
My colleagues and I oppose these proposed increases and are working to prevent them from taking effect.
I also supported legislation to address one of the underlying issues driving higher energy costs — requiring large energy users, like data centers, to pay their fair share instead of shifting costs onto consumers.
Right now, the focus is stopping this proposed rate hike.
I’ve joined my colleagues in launching a petition to push back and demonstrate the level of opposition across our community. The more people who sign, the clearer that message will be.
You can sign the petition here: https://www.pahouse.com/Davis/Petition/?id=1891.
Together, we can make it clear that this proposal should not move forward.
