MY OFFICE IS HOSTING A COLLECTION DRIVE

Here is a chance to give back to our community before the holiday season. I’m always inspired by the generosity of our community, and yet again, my office is collecting personal care products to help our neighbors in need.

All donations will be delivered to the West Millcreek Food Pantry before the holiday season.

🙏🏼 If you’re able to donate, every contribution makes a difference. Thank you for helping us make the holidays a little brighter for families in our community!

📍 Donations can be dropped off at our Millcreek office, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

HOW WE VOTED

This week, the House returned to Harrisburg to vote on important bills that will help working families and improve communities. We passed legislation to lower utility bills by requiring electric utilities to procure grid-stabilizing battery storage, which would help reduce peak demand and lower system costs (HB 2380). We voted to improve women’s healthcare coverage for menopause care (HB 1346 & 1345). We passed a measure to improve accommodations to help pregnant women and women experiencing menopause in the workplace (HB 2135). We also voted to provide more tools to help women experiencing perimenopause and menopause (HB 1411). We increased penalties for retailers illegally selling vaping products to minors (HB 1434). The House banned sale of synthetic kratom and regulated sales of natural kratom products (HB 2657).

You can see how we voted on all bills here.

VISITING WITH FUTURE YOUNG PROFESSIONALS

I enjoyed talking with the current round of fellows from the PA House Fellowship Program. This important opportunity puts college students in House committees so they can get work experience and insight into the legislative process. It takes a lot of work to craft and analyze a bill, to get feedback from the public and negotiate something that can be signed into law - these students get to be right in the middle of the action.

We need our best and brightest to understand the importance of public service, see the difference they can make, and consider it for a career path. You can find more information on the PA House Fellowship Program for college students, graduate school students & law school students here.
