I am horrified by the news headlines and videos we’ve seen over the past year, and especially this past weekend. Many of my constituents have shared that they feel the same. Right is right, and wrong is wrong. We must remain vigilant against any attempt to normalize these actions, and we cannot allow misinformation to shape the narrative.
The United States of America is built on the bedrock of the U.S. Constitution, including the Bill of Rights, where individual rights and freedoms are explicitly defined. Our country’s history has often fallen short in ensuring those rights and freedoms are protected for everyone. Yet I will continue to insist that we strive, at every moment, to safeguard our civil liberties and uphold the values of our Constitution—for all.
I expect federal law enforcement to cooperate with—not work against—state and local officials and to act in full accordance with Pennsylvania state law, federal law, and the U.S. Constitution.
In the PA House, I’ve joined my colleagues in support of several bills that aim to clarify state laws and protect the residents of our Commonwealth.
Even in these dark days, I am looking for the light of a brighter future. We are strongest together. I encourage you to seek out stronger connections with your neighbors and our community-based organizations. I will continue to work with my colleagues in the PA House to advocate for our neighbors, our communities and to protect our civil liberties.
