MY OFFICE IS HOSTING A COLLECTION DRIVE

Here is a chance to give back to our community before the holiday season. I’m always inspired by the generosity of our community, and yet again, my office is collecting personal care products to help our neighbors in need.

All donations will be delivered to the West Millcreek Food Pantry before the holiday season.

🙏🏼 If you’re able to donate, every contribution makes a difference. Thank you for helping us make the holidays a little brighter for families in our community!

📍 Donations can be dropped off at our Millcreek office, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

CRISSCROSSING PENNSYLVANIA

The House Policy Committee learned more about creating jobs and the obstacles facing school directors during our latest road trip through NEPA.

Rep. Jim Haddock brought us to Luzerne County on Tuesday, to see a manufacturing plant that had been shuttered in December 2024, only to be reopened and reimagined as a beverage manufacturer. The state provided a $1 million investment when it started and that investment has paid off in the form of $45 million the company has spent on services, its facility and the local economy. The plant converted to automation, invited former employees back to the plant, implemented increased training and expanded production. So far they have created 180 jobs since April 2025 and plant to expand and hire more in the coming years. Read more here.

The Northeast House Delegation then participated in a roundtable with school directors in Lackawanna County at Scranton School District on Wednesday morning. Every child in Pennsylvania deserves access to a quality education, regardless of where they live. It’s why fair school funding matters. Lawmakers had conversations with directors about the challenges facing public education, including funding inequities, academic achievement and high costs. The House continues to make progress toward a fairer funding system that eases the burden on local taxpayers while ensuring students have access to the support they need to thrive. Read more here.

As chairman of the House Majority Policy Committee, I serve on the House Majority Leadership team. We crisscross the state listening to members of our local communities and working on solutions that make life easier for working families.

Looking to the end of the year, the committee will have held 91 hearings across 56 neighborhoods with 56 different leaders hosting events during this legislative session.

UP NEXT: The committee will travel to Philadelphia in November.

HOW WE VOTED

Despite holding a one-seat majority for almost the entire session, the House has passed more than 520 bills. We will return to Harrisburg in November. You can see how we voted on all bills here.

WELCOMING A NEW BUSINESS

Please join me in welcoming Dina’s Authentic Dominican Kitchen to our community. I’m excited to welcome this new locally owned restaurant to Peninsula Plaza – right next door to my legislative office!

It’s always great to see new small businesses investing in our community. Stop by, give them a try.
