Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I hope you find this week’s News and Events email helpful as we look at what’s coming up in and around the district.  As always, my team and I are here to help you with any state-related matter and are happy to provide as much information as we can.

Whether you need a service, want to share your concerns, offer ideas, or drop off a donation for one of our drives, we’d love to see you at my district office during our walk-in hours of 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday.  Alternatively, feel free to reach out at (215) 517-6800 or via email at RepSanchez@pahouse.net.

Wishing you and yours a good week ahead.

Sincerely,

State Representative Ben Sanchez

Our Annual Back to School Supply Drive

📚I know it's still summer, but we're very excited to announce that our annual "Back to School Supply Drive" has begun! This year we will be collecting supplies for a wonderful local organization, the Breathing Room Foundation, that helps so many in and around our community.

Breathing Room Foundation dedicates itself to improving the lives of families affected by cancer by ensuring that no one is alone in their fight, and we are happy to support their endeavors. Please drop off all donations to my district office during normal walk-in hours. If you need to drop off supplies at a different time, just give us a call to make sure someone will be there to collect them.

On behalf of my office and the Breathing Room Foundation, we thank you in advance for your participation! I am always blown away by the incredible kindness from all of you. Let's get these supplies in the hands (and on the backs) of the children who need them.🍎✏️

Ribbon Cutting for New Abington Playground Equipment

It was a pleasure to join my friends in Abington Township to celebrate the ribbon-cutting on this beautiful new playground in Baederwood Park. Thanks to state funding, we were able to secure the resources needed to bring this project to life, and the dedicated Township staff did an outstanding job making it a reality.

It was especially meaningful to see so many children enjoying the same park where I spent time playing when I was young. There's nothing better than investing in local spaces that will create lasting memories for generations to come.

Upper Dublin Library's Ceremonial Reading of the Declaration of Independence

On July 3, I had the honor of participating in the Upper Dublin Public Library's ceremonial reading of the Declaration of Independence. This well-attended and beautifully orchestrated event by the library staff was even more impactful than I could have imagined. There was something about reading the words of this foundational document of our country right now in another pivotal time in our country's history that took my breath away. It was a meaningful reminder that we may not be a perfect country, but we should never stop trying to become one.

If you are interested in reading, or re-reading, the full text of the document, you can find it written out here: https://www.archives.gov/founding.../declaration-transcript.

Another Hot One Next Week, Be Prepared

This week coming up is going to be another hot one. With temperatures reaching well into the 90's mid-week, I wanted to make sure that everyone had the resources needed to be as informed as possible to stay safe through this scorcher.

Please be careful if you find yourself needing to be outdoors or without access to home/work cooling options. Also consider checking on your vulnerable neighbors and loved ones, and don't forget about your pets; if it's too hot outside for you, it's too hot outside for them. Drink plenty of water and stay cool!
