Introducing legislation that promotes energy affordability

You’re doing the right thing to conserve energy and lower your bills. It’s time for utility companies to do right by everyone here in Delco. I’ve joined my colleagues to introduce legislation that helps tackle this ongoing issue

Since energy deregulation, those who shop for electricity have actually paid more, often because they’re automatically rolled into expensive variable-rate plans without realizing it. My bill, House Bill 2131, would protect consumers by returning them to their default utility at the end of a contract unless they choose otherwise, helping prevent unfair price hikes while preserving the option to shop for energy.

Upper Darby Small Business Empowerment Hub opening celebration

I was excited to attend the Upper Darby Small Business Empowerment Hub announcement and celebration at the Upper Darby Township Building with Rep. Gina H. Curry.

Upper Darby Township has allocated $4.8 million for small business resources, grants, and business corridor revitalization, made possible by the American Rescue Plan Act. The new hub will provide expert technical support in business planning, implementing financial systems, marketing and sales strategies, and staffing and operations.

When our small businesses succeed, the whole community benefits, and this will be an important resource for every small business in Upper Darby!

LAST DAY to complete PennDOT survey on traffic safety and driving behaviors

PennDOT is seeking input from Pennsylvanians on traffic safety and driving behaviors through an online survey. Today is the last day to submit feedback!

The survey was designed to help inform PennDOT on how the Shapiro administration can continue to improve traffic safety- and save lives- across the Commonwealth.

Answers are anonymous and the survey should take about five minutes to complete. Check it out here.

Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit

We're always working to put more money back in your pocket!

Late last year, we created a new Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit, which means thousands of families in Delco are eligible for up to $805 to help pay for an unplanned expense, childcare, groceries, or anything else they need.

If you qualify for the federal Earned Income Tax Credit, you qualify for this state program, which will lower your taxes or increase your refund this tax filing season. See if you qualify!
