Around The District

Our office was pleased to join the York County Delegation in meeting with the York County Regional Police Department to discuss ongoing projects, current priorities, and future plans and initiatives within the department.

The discussion provided an opportunity to hear directly from local law enforcement about efforts to enhance public safety, strengthen community partnerships, and better serve York County residents.

We look forward to working together to support their efforts and ensure York County remains a safe and thriving place to live!

Our office started the week off right with York Fresh Food Farms! It is a nonprofit urban farm dedicated to making fresh, affordable, locally grown produce more accessible to the community.

Through its Farm Share program and community initiatives, the organization works to increase access to nutritious food for families and neighborhoods with limited fresh produce options. The farm also supports community gardens and food donations, helping put fresh fruits and vegetables directly into the hands of those who need them. Our office is grateful to York Fresh Food Farms for welcoming us and allowing our team to make an impact one harvest at a time!

I was pleased to attend the Kiwanis Lake Labor Day Fishing Derby on Monday!

Sponsored by the York-Adams County Central Labor Council, this wonderful event brought together children aged one through fifteen for a fun-filled morning of fishing, family, and community. Events like this remind us of the importance of investing in our children and creating opportunities for families and our community to come together.

Thank you to the York-Adams County Central Labor Council, the Kiwanis Club, and all the volunteers who helped make this event such a success. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of it!

Around the Captiol

The Pennsylvania House of Representatives met for a historic House Session at Congress Hall in Philadelphia on Wednesday, bringing lawmakers and students together in one of the most significant locations in Pennsylvania and American history.

Congress Hall, located in Philadelphia's Independence National Historical Park, served as the meeting place of the United States House of Representatives and Senate from 1790 to 1800, when Philadelphia was the nation's capital. Holding a Pennsylvania House session in this historic space offered a meaningful connection between the Commonwealth's past and its role in shaping America's future.

As part of the America250PA commemoration, students participating in the program had the special opportunity to witness the legislative process in a setting where the foundations of our nation were shaped. The Speaker’s Office issued citations to all participating students in recognition of their involvement in this historic occasion.

Together, we honor Pennsylvania’s past, celebrate its present, and inspire the next generation to shape America’s future!

We’re asking local organizations, businesses, and community partners to join us in making a difference for families and individuals in need throughout the 95th Legislative District.

We are currently accepting donations of diapers, wipes, and adult incontinence products, which will be distributed to local nonprofits serving our community.

Every donation can help provide comfort, dignity, and essential support to a neighbor in need. Together, we can make sure these necessities reach the people who need them most.

Program and Grant Reminder

Unclaimed property comes from the Pennsylvania Department of Treasury; this property it is typically safeguarded money and assets that have been inactive or unclaimed for a legally defined period. Through our office, we are working to get these unclaimed assets back into the hands of our constituents.

Our office is sending letters to constituents who might have unclaimed property associated with their address. If you receive a letter from us, we encourage you to review the information provided and contact our office by phone or email with any questions or if you need help. We are happy to simplify the process and provide additional information!

2026/27 Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Season is almost here.

This season opens Monday, November 2 and will continue through Friday, April 23, 2027. Customers who received LIHEAP last season will receive a 2026/27 LIHEAP application or COMPASS postcard with a registration number that allows these customers to apply before the start of the season.

Customers who didn't receive LIHEAP last season may request an application on or after November 2 by: Applying online at www.compass.state.pa.us (on or after November 2), Contacting their local County Assistance Office by phone or in person, calling the LIHEAP Client Helpline at 1-866-857-7095.

Additionally, my office is available to assist with any LIHEAP claims. If you have any questions or want to see if you qualify, call 717-848-9595 or respond to this email!

The Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services (FCEMS) Grant is an annual program administered by the Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner to support volunteer and career fire companies, emergency medical services (EMS), and rescue squads.

Applicants can combine up to two projects from these categories:

Facilities – Construction/renovation of facilities, purchase/repair of fixtures/furnishings to improve fire, ambulance, and rescue capabilities.
Equipment – Purchase/repair of firefighting, ambulance, or rescue equipment (including fuel for company vehicles).
Debt Reduction – Reduction of debt related to facilities or equipment.
Training – Certification of members; overtime for backfilling during training.
Training & Education – Public fire prevention materials.
Recruitment & Retention – Volunteer length-of-service awards, programs for minors.
Construction Savings Account – For fire companies only

The Academic Athlete Alliance, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on bridging the gap between sports and academics to help engineer well-rounded student-athletes who are prepared for success in the classroom, in competition, in their careers, and throughout life.

Their work is organized around four core programs: Academics & Innovation; Health, Wellness & Performance; Career & Entrepreneurship; and Financial & Life Readiness

Through these programs, they help students build academic confidence, healthy habits, career awareness, entrepreneurship skills, financial capability, leadership, and practical life readiness.

If you applied for a rebate through the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program and included your phone number on your application, you will receive an automated call from the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue to let you know your rebate has been approved for payment. These calls are designed to keep applicants updated about their rebate status.

Remember that rebate distribution started on July 1, 2026, and Rebates typically take at least 6-8 weeks from submission to distribution.
