I hope you have all been doing well! This week, in addition to securing two million dollars for the district through RACP grants, we have information on housing opportunities, upcoming community events, a PennDOT job fair, and more.

I am thrilled to announcehe Falls Township Fire Company No. 1 has been  awarded $500,000 in state grant funding through the Commonwealth’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program.

Funded by the Commonwealth’s Office of the Budget, RACP provides funding for the design, acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.

This funding will support the comprehensive construction and renovation of the Falls Township Fire Company facility. I am a strong supporter of our first responders, and I will always fight to ensure that they have the resources they need to do their job safely and effectively.

Thank you to Sen. Steve Santarsiero for helping me advocate for the procurement of this grant award.

Pennsbury School District has also been awarded $500,000 that will go toward the construction of a consolidated, comprehensive high school facility

I will always fight for our students, teachers, and schools; and I am very proud to have played a part in securing these funds for Pennsbury—alongside my colleagues, Sen. Steve Santarsiero and Rep. Perry Warren, who also helped secure this funding. 

Childcare is a vital, and often necessary reality for working families. We also need to ensure that the children at these facilities are actually having a good time. This new playground at the River Crossing YMCA will help children pass the time and get their energy out before mom and dad come to pick them up

Last but not least, the Middletown Department of Public Works Yard will be receiving a $500,000 grant award.

These funds will go to support the demolition, reconstruction, and expansion of the Department of Public Works yard and facilities! 

In total, we were able to secure $2 Million dollars in RACP grants for the district. I was proud to work with my fellow legislators to secure this funding, which will support critical infrastructure improvements, strengthen our communities, and invest in the future of our region.

Looking for a rewarding career with the Commonwealth? PennDOT is hosting a Bucks County Job Fair on Saturday, August 8, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Bucks County PennDOT Office in Pipersville.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about a variety of available positions, including Transportation Equipment Operators, Diesel Construction Equipment Mechanics, and Automotive Mechanics. Select applicants may also have the chance to participate in on-the-spot interviews, road testing, and the hiring process. Those applying for operator positions should bring a valid CDL and Medical Certificate.

For years, due to an issue with the funding formula, Morrisville schools were chronically underfunded.

In this budget, Senator Santarsiero and I were able to address this issue, placing Morrisville schools on the road to financial stability while improving the education of our children. Morrisville will receive over $3.5 million in new state funding.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and be at least 20 years old at the time of application. Cadet training lasts approximately 28 weeks, and upon successful completion of the academy, graduates are promoted to the rank of state trooper.

The Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs recently launched a new website designed to support families of loved ones experiencing substance use disorder. Caregiver Connection is a resource that helps family members find support for themselves as they navigate their loved one’s treatment and recovery journey.

If you are supporting someone in recovery or caring for someone experiencing substance use disorder, Caregiver Connection can help you find local and online support groups, connect with others in your community who are on a similar journey, and learn how to access county drug and alcohol offices, free Narcan, and other valuable resources.

Do you have old electronics taking up space in your home? I invite you to bring them to my free E-Waste Recycling Event on Saturday, August 29, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Pennsbury High School West Campus (608 S. Olds Blvd., Fairless Hills).

You can recycle computers, laptops, printers, phones, VCRs, wires, and other small electronics, as well as small random metal items. Please note that monitors, televisions, hazardous chemicals, light bulbs, and materials containing Freon cannot be accepted.
