WHY WE PRIORITIZE SENIORS

I joined Erie News Now to go Behind the Story and talk about my senior fair, the largest in the state.
We're taking care of our seniors, because they are the same people who took care of us when we were younger. We are back and bigger than ever. We will have all the services and organizations that seniors need. Join us on Monday for a great event where everyone is encouraged to have fun and find the info they need!
Remember, we are at a new venue, the Bayfront Convention Center. Overflow parking at Liberty Park is available with shuttle service. We will also have a shuttle cart for anyone who needs assistance in the parking lot.

The PA House Democratic Policy Committee was in Centre County Tuesday talking about one of the biggest challenges facing Pennsylvanians: finding a place to live that they can actually afford. The housing crunch isn’t limited to our cities and suburbs. Rural communities are feeling it too, as costs rise and attainable housing becomes harder to find.
As chairman of the House Majority Policy Committee, I serve on the House Majority Leadership team and tour the state listening to local communities and working on solutions that make it easier for working families. The committee has held 78 hearings across 53 neighborhoods so far this legislative session, with 52 different leaders hosting events.

Last week, I had the honor of joining veterans and active-duty service members at the Pennsylvania Soldiers’ & Sailors’ Home to recognize Purple Heart Day.
We honored the brave men and women wounded or killed in service to our nation. Their sacrifice, courage, and commitment to protecting our freedoms will never be forgotten. Thank you to every Purple Heart recipient for your service and sacrifice.

Big changes are coming to Medicaid. PA's Department of Human Services has published a lot of information to help people prepare for 2027. Pay attention to dhs.pa.gov/MedicaidChanges and review all letters you receive from DHS in the coming months.
Knowing that these changes are on the horizon:
- Keep your contact information up to date with DHS.
- Use the online COMPASS application for renewals to make sure paperwork doesn't get lost in the mail.
- If you need help getting information to DHS, call my office.
- If you get denial notices or requests for follow up information, work through my office to address those issues.
