I hope you have all been doing well! A lot happened this past weekend and I wanted to fill you in.

The House and Senate passed a bipartisan 2026-2027 budget that was signed into law by the Governor on Sunday. This budget will invest heavily in our public education (especially the Morrisville School District which was in desperate need of more funding), in our workers, in our retirees, and in many other important programs. 2026-2027 Budget: In Summary

BREAKING: Major Win for Morrisville and Public Education

For years, due to an issue with the funding formula, Morrisville schools were chronically underfunded. In this budget, Senator Santarsiero and I were able to address this issue, placing Morrisville schools on the road to financial stability while improving the education of our children. Morrisville will receive over $3.5 million in new state funding.

Neshaminy and Pennsbury will also received increases in funding -- for basic education as well as special education. As a member of the House Education Committee, I strongly advocated for these increases and will continue to do so. It is critical that we continue to do our fair share with regard to education funding, so that local taxpayers aren’t responsible for the lion’s share of local education funding.

Giving Money Back to Working Families

The 2026-27 state budget puts money back in the pockets of nearly one million working families through the Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit. By building on the federal Earned Income Tax Credit, the program helps hardworking Pennsylvanians keep more of what they earn.

The expanded credit provides additional financial relief to help families afford essentials like housing, groceries, childcare and transportation—strengthening household budgets while supporting Pennsylvania's economy.

Taking Care of Our Retired Public Servants

The 2026-27 Pennsylvania budget includes long-awaited pension increases for thousands of retired municipal police officers, firefighters, public school employees and state workers. Eligible retirees will receive benefit increases beginning in July and August 2026, providing long-overdue financial relief.

These pension increases help retirees keep pace with rising costs while honoring the years they dedicated to serving Pennsylvania's communities.
