$2 million secured for “Neighborhood Slow Zones”
|
I’m pleased to share that our area has been awarded $2 million in grant funding from PennDOT. These funds will be used to expand the “Neighborhood Slow Zones” program to the Second Street and Indiana areas, enhancing safety and livability in our community.
Philadelphia previously introduced the Neighborhood Slow Zones program, which implements quick-build speed management improvements. The first round of enhancements was a success, both in reducing crashes within Slow Zones and in receiving positive community feedback.
I’m looking forward to the increased safety this investment will make in our community.
