2025-26 PA Budget Highlights
|
At long last the state has a balanced, bipartisan budget. I wanted to take the time to highlight some of the major wins in this budget. I voted for this plan because it helps every kid in every school across the Commonwealth, preserves vital services, prevents layoffs, and does not raise taxes. It helps fund our schools, feed the hungry, care for seniors, assist in providing quality childcare, and invests in our workers.
This budget stands up for taxpayers like you today and in the future.

I know every dollar counts, especially when it comes to affording the high price of groceries, utilities, childcare, and gas. The Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit is a vital part of this budget which puts money back into the pockets of families and helps to cover the rising costs of the things we need.
If you qualify for the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit, you automatically qualify for this state tax cut. It’s that simple. Families will get as much as $800 back in their pockets at tax time.
This tax cut is in addition to the Child & Dependent Care Enhancement Tax Credit that we expanded last year, which is helping make life more affordable for nearly a quarter-million working families. This also works like the federal credit, putting an extra $1,000 to $2,100 back in the pockets of families paying for childcare or dependent care.
I am so proud of the work we’ve done to make sure hard-working families have more money in their pockets, and I will keep fighting to cut costs for you.

Reducing barriers in teacher certification to make it easier and more affordable for teachers to get into the classroom in every district is another huge win for this budget. The teacher shortage in PA has reached critical levels, and we need a dedicated teacher workforce to provide quality education for our kids.
This budget offers commonsense fixes like reducing certification fees to get more teachers teaching and more kids learning, streamlining the process to get teachers back into the classroom after taking time off, and offering individuals a pathway to a fulfilling career while equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need to effectively teach.

Leading up to the event, we are accepting donations for our Pet Donation Drive, which will be given to the organizations on the day of the event to help keep their adoption sites filled with necessary items to run the shelters. Please see the flyer for requested donations.
Thank you in advance for any donations you can spare!
