Updates on Legislation

Harrisburg has been busy since heading back for fall session and the House is wasting no time in passing good, commonsense legislation! I'm proud to announce that my legislation was voted out of the House and sent to the Senate.

My Bills that Passed out of the House

  • AI chatbot safety bill to enact guardrails for AI companionship applications passed the House with bipartisan support.
  • H.R. 287, directs the Joint State Government Commission to conduct a study on workplace policies regarding perimenopause and menopause, as well as make recommendations for how state agencies can work to provide education and information to all residents of PA.

Menopause Takes on a New Meaning in Harrisburg

On September 28, my colleagues and I welcomed advocates and policy experts to the Capitol for a day of action to put policy over pause in raising our voices for the #NoTimeForAPause package of menopause legislation.

The package of bills includes expanding insurance coverage for HRT medication, pelvic floor therapy, vaginal estrogen, continuing education, workplace protections, and more! In just the past two weeks the House has approved eight pieces of legislation out of committees and five pieces from the full House. And this is just the beginning!

Menopause continues to be under-discussed and misunderstood. It is a stage of life every woman experiences and is not “problematic” as some of my colleagues have suggested. It is vital we continue to have hard conversations and raise awareness for what women experience when going through menopause and perimenopause.

Tredyffrin Township Community Day

I had a wonderful time catching up with neighbors and talking about state services at Tredyffrin Township Community Day! It was a beautiful day to speak with all our neighbors and talk about the issues that matter most to you.
