Pennsylvania State Police expands pathways to a career as a trooper
|
The Pennsylvania State Police is expanding opportunities for students and aspiring law enforcement professionals through partnerships with colleges and universities across Pennsylvania. Through the Academy Internship Program, eligible college seniors can complete their final semester at the PSP Academy, earn academic credits, and begin their careers as Pennsylvania State Troopers after successfully completing cadet training. Interested students must apply by Sept. 30, 2026.
The current hiring cycle is open through July 31, 2026.

Bridge Construction at Night Next Week on Interstate 95 Girard Point Bridge
- Wednesday, August 5, a single lane closure will be in place at 9:00 PM, followed by a double lane closure at 12:00 AM Midnight to 5:00 AM on northbound I-95 between Enterprise Avenue and Broad Street (Route 611) for sign removal.
- Wednesday, August 5, from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a right lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95 between Broad Street (Route 611) and Enterprise Avenue for temporary lighting installation.
- Thursday, August 6, a single lane closure will be in place at 11:00 PM, followed by a double lane closure at 12:00 AM Midnight to 5:00 AM on southbound I-95 between Broad Street (Route 611) and Enterprise Avenue for sign removal.
The work on Wednesday and Thursday will begin following the completion of the scheduled Phillies’ games.
Bridge Construction to Close I-76 West at Night Next Week in Center City Philadelphia
I-76 East to be restricted next Tuesday night
- Tuesday, August 4, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a right lane closure will be in place on eastbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) between the I-676 and 30th Street interchanges.
- Wednesday, August 5, and Thursday, August 6, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, I-76 West will be closed and detoured between the 30th Street and I-676 interchanges. Drivers will be directed to exit at 30th Street and travel west on Schuylkill Avenue to access the ramps to I-76 West (Schuylkill Expressway) and I-676 East.
