Coffee & Conversation

Thank you to everyone who attended my Coffee & Conversation event at Tredyffrin Library this week! I want to reiterate that I share our community's concern over the DHS-leased office space in Berwyn. On Wednesday, I was able to address additional concerns our neighbors have about this space and recommend that you advocate with the township to look into what ordinances or restrictions could be used to protect our community. It is always great to meet with you and hear about what matters most to you!

Summer Internship

My district office is now welcoming applications for our Summer Internship Program. This is an opportunity for students to help serve the constituents of the 157th District. Our interns will have a flexible weekday schedule of approximately 10–12 hours per week for a total of 10 weeks, from June through mid-August. This is a paid, in-person position based in Paoli, PA. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Please submit resumes to repshusterman@pahouse.net. Interviews will begin on April 13!

Help Us Raise the Minimum Wage!

In 2009 the minimum wage in PA was $7.25; in 2026 the minimum wage in PA is still $7.25. Pennsylvania is falling behind; all our neighboring states have since raised their minimum wage above $7.25 in the last 17 years - even West Virginia. I am proud to have voted YES in the House on HB 2189, to increase the minimum wage, but we all have a part to play!

I am asking for your help to urge Senate Majority Leader Joe Pittman to put up the vote in the Senate to raise the minimum wage and for Gov. Shapiro to sign it into law. Raising our minimum wage will ensure PA can attract and keep workers in our Commonwealth as opposed to going to work in neighboring states. Together we can make sure PA is ahead of the curve and not falling behind. Sign the petition here!
