Around The District

Dear Neighbors,

As a supporter of public-private partnerships, especially in a storm, we would like to send a special shoutout to SERVPRO of York City!

As a locally owned business specializing in cleaning, remediation, restoration and reconstruction, SERVPRO of York City provides a rapid response to fire and water damage, mold remediation, biohazards and other emergency situations.

Since opening their downtown office, they've already made a meaningful impact by partnering with local organizations to install free smoke alarms, support first responders, promote emergency preparedness, and offer free Emergency Ready Plans (ERPs) to help businesses and property owners prepare for the unexpected.

My office had the pleasure of hosting a table at the No Youth Left Behind event, bringing along government-related resources to provide for the community. It was a wonderful time as we watched the community come together to support the youth to stay off the streets, with the power of prayer.

As a Pennsylvanian, you deserve a state budget that works for you. The 2026/27 budget

invests in stronger schools, safer communities, affordable housing, good paying

jobs, and quality health care, all without raising taxes.

The 2026-27 Pennsylvania budget signed by Governor Shapiro last Sunday totals $50.84 billion, emphasizing education, public safety, healthcare, and economic growth while maintaining fiscal balance.

If you applied for a rebate through the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program and included your phone number on your application, you will receive an automated call from the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue to let you know your rebate has been approved for payment. These calls are designed to keep applicants updated about their rebate status.

Remember that rebate distribution started on July 1, 2026, and Rebates typically take at least 6-8 weeks from submission to distribution.
