Music in the Park was a Blast!

Our last Music in the Park night of the summer with the Kevin James Band was a great time! Thanks to everyone who came out to get their groove on and be a part of our community. I was so happy to connect so many neighbors with state and local resources and information!

Black Business Month

Video

August is Black Business Month, so I joined my colleagues Rep. Darisha Parker, Rep. Amen Brown, and Rep. Ana Tiburcio for a visit to Scoopful Delights in the Mt. Airy section of Northwest Philadelphia. It was great to talk with the owner about the challenges of being a Black business owner and find out how we can help. I was proud to support this amazing Black-owned family business and get some DELICIOUS ice cream and cakes. Check out Scoopful Delights at 76th and Germantown Ave.!

Financial Literacy is the Key to Building Generational Wealth

The Pennsylvania Treasury has launched a new online Financial Education Hub, providing a centralized collection of resources to help you improve your financial literacy and make informed financial decisions.

The hub covers topics including budgeting, saving, retirement planning, digital assets and cryptocurrency, along with information about Treasury programs such as PA 529, Keystone Scholars, and PA ABLE. Resources are tailored to groups including students, teachers, active-duty military members, veterans, and older adults.

Visit the Financial Education Hub today and improve your financial literacy to start building generational wealth for your family.

Keep an Eye on Your Mailbox!

My Summer newsletter was mailed this week and should be arriving in your mailbox soon! Please take a few minutes to read through the highlights of our new state budget, good things coming to our communities, and all about the work I’m doing in Harrisburg for YOU. If you don’t get one, please contact my office to make sure you’re on our mailing list so we can keep you up-to-date on what’s happening in state government and resources that are available for you!

Ensure You Can Make Your Voice Heard

The general election for 2026 is right around the corner! Now is the time to make sure that you are registered to vote in PA and your voter information is correct (such as your street address, if you moved recently), find where your polling place is located, or to apply for a mail-in ballot. Monday, Oct. 19 is the deadline to register for this important election! Join the conversation and make sure your voice is heard at the polls for you, your family, and your community.

IN THE COMMUNITY

Summer Walking Tour

Keep an eye out for Team 185 as my staff and I will be knocking on doors in our communities all summer long to make sure that you know about the information and resources that we can provide. It’s also a good chance to interact with our neighbors so you can let us know what changes and improvements are needed in your neighborhood!

Check out the graphic above for the starting location, date, and time for when we’ll be near your community!

This week, we were in Southwest Philly neighborhoods below Dicks Ave. between 66th and 65th Streets connecting folks with information and resources from our office!

PROGRAMS AND OPPORTUNITIES

Does the State Owe You Money?

Are you one of the nearly 30,000 people in our area who has Unclaimed Property in the PA Treasury Vault? It could be anything from lost paychecks, to jewelry, to forgotten savings bonds, or so much more. Our office is reaching out to our neighbors who have something valuable in the vault, but you can search your name on their website by clicking above to find out on your own and make your claim faster!

State Grants Available

My office helps city officials and local organizations connect to state grants available to help them do their important work to improve our communities and the lives of residents. You can find a list of state grant programs that are currently open for application on my website. We update this list as new programs come online so check back often.

My offices are here to help!
