The recent severe storms and widespread power outages have left many families in our community dealing with spoiled food and unexpected financial strain. If your household relies on SNAP benefits and you lost food due to a power outage, flood, or storm damage, you can request replacement SNAP benefits to recover what was lost.
Please share this critical information with your friends, family, and neighbors.
Important Rules to Know:
The 10-Day Deadline: You must request replacement benefits within 10 days of when the power outage or disaster occurred.
The Limit: The law allows you to receive replacement benefits for the exact amount of food you lost—up to one full month’s worth of your standard benefits.
How to Apply:
Complete the Replacement Affidavit Form
Fill out the required form stating how much food was lost. You can download the affidavit form at:

Once completed, upload your form to the COMPASS portal or use the myCOMPASS PA mobile app. You can also turn it in directly to your local County Assistance Office (CAO).
