Yesterday, I attended a press conference in support of Democratic legislation, House Bill 2223, introduced by Rep. Fiedler, which would lower costs by boosting grid efficiency.
It would lower electric bills by adopting advanced transmission technologies.
I will never hesitate to support legislation the benefits working-class Pennsylvanians and I was happy to vote YES on this bill.
HB 2223 now sits in the Senate, awaiting further consideration.
|
Also on Monday, I stood with Rep. Flemming from Harrisburg and Rep. Cepeda-Freytiz from Berks as members of the legislature were invited to wear red, white, and blue in celebration of Independence Day.
Once again, we’re wishing everyone a happy and safe Independence Day!

As a reminder, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed a bipartisan, commonsense budget to the Senate on April 14th. In which, my colleagues and I voted to invest in public education, support for law enforcement, and strengthen Pennsylvania’s economy, all while returning money to working families and not raising taxes.
The budget currently sits in the state Senate for consideration.

Through House Resolution 525, which I introduced, the House voted to designate September 14-20, 2026, as "Diaper Need Awareness Week" in Pennsylvania.
Diaper need is a significant but often overlooked issue, and access to an adequate supply of clean diapers is necessary for the health and well-being of Pennsylvania’s children and incontinent adults.
In conjunction, Harrisburg will host the 12th Annual Capitol Diaper Drive. During the week of the diaper drive, packages of new, unopened diapers and incontinence products, as well as monetary donations, will be collected.
More information will be available soon, thank you!

Legislation Heading to the Senate!
|
HB2644 would authorizes $4.77 billion in additional bridge infrastructure projects across Pennsylvania for the 2026–2027 fiscal year.
The bill supplements the Commonwealth's existing Highway-Railroad and Highway Bridge Capital Budget Act by adding new state and local bridge projects for repair, rehabilitation, and replacement.
The legislation would permit the allocation of $3.8 billion for state-owned bridges and $962.3 million for locally owned bridges.
Municipalities would be eligible for state grants covering up to 80% of the non-federal share of approved local bridge projects, helping communities address critical infrastructure needs.
|
Similar,
HB2412 would provide annual state funding for Pennsylvania's state-related universities for the 2026–27 fiscal year.
The bill establishes annual appropriations, outlines the schedule for distributing funds, and includes accountability measures such as financial reporting, recordkeeping requirements, and oversight by the Auditor General.
In addition to funding university operations, HB 2412 provides support for the Agricultural College Land Scrip Fund and sets conditions governing the use of state appropriations.

On Monday, the House voted to prohibit ride-hail companies from using “surveillance pricing” techniques to upcharge customers.
House Bill 2512 would prohibit these companies from setting prices according to your device’s condition such as battery life, the number of wireless connections and the age of the device.
Plain and simple, you shouldn’t have to surrender your phone’s privacy just to get a ride home.
|
If you applied for a rebate through the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program and included your phone number on your application, you will receive an automated call from the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue to let you know your rebate has been approved for payment. These calls are designed to keep applicants updated about their rebate status.
Remember that rebate distribution started on July 1, 2026, and Rebates typically take at least 6-8 weeks from submission to distribution.
