Dear Neighbors,

Last night, there was a shooting incident at the Racine Blue Line station. This was an isolated incident and the victim is in good condition. I'm in close contact with 12th District Police and the CTA, and will be raising this directly with the Mayor today.

I have also requested additional safety resources in the area, especially in light of the tragic shooting last weekend that led to the death of John Flemister, who touched the lives of many neighbors in the West Loop.

Public safety is my top priority - whether you live, work in, or visit our community. Ongoing violence and crime across our public transit system is unacceptable, and all of our leaders need to prioritize safety initiatives. If you see any suspicious activity, please report it to 911 immediately.

Please join us for upcoming CAPS meetings with the 12th District this Wednesday, April 23rd at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (813 W. Roosevelt). Beat 1231 will meet at 6pm and Beat 1232 meets at 7pm.

Sincerely,

Bill Conway

Alderman, 34th Ward
