Dear Neighbor,

Happy holidays and safe travels wherever this season takes you!

I wanted to share a few recent updates from home and Harrisburg — including the opening of our new Wissahickon Transit Center, House-passed bills that support kids, protect health care, and combat human trafficking, plus a quick video with my friend, State Rep. Jared Solomon, highlighting budget wins and some great local small businesses you might want to check out!

And if you need help with a state issue or want to share what’s happening in the community, my office is here for you. Call 215-482-8726, email RepKhan@pahouse.net, or stop by our local office anytime at 4001 Main Street in Manayunk.

🚉 Wissahickon Transit Center Is Now Open!

During my first term, Gov Shapiro announced a nearly $40 million investment in our district to build the Wissahickon Transit Center, which will serve about 5,000 riders per weekday. Shaped by neighbors, built by union labor, delivered by SEPTA, and funded by the commonwealth!

The new center is officially open and already making daily trips easier for folks in Manayunk, Roxborough, and across Northwest Philly!

📺 Watch a short video at the link below highlighting the opening and why this investment matters.

Safer, more reliable transit, and a gorgeous community space we can all be proud of!

Turning Little Kids into Big Readers

Big news: a bipartisan bill I worked on with Rep. Liz Hanbidge just passed the PA House! 📚

Inspired by Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, it would mail free books to kids under 5 — right to their homes.

Helping End Human Trafficking in PA

This week, the House passed a bipartisan bill to help stop human trafficking in Pennsylvania, now headed to the Senate. I was proud to help lead it.

Our bill ensures that hotel and short-term rental workers are trained to recognize warning signs and know how to respond. It equips frontline workers with the tools to speak up, protect others, and help victims access support more quickly.

💉 Keeping Vaccines Accessible in Pennsylvania

This week, the House passed HB 1881, a bill I introduced with Rep. Arvind Venkat to protect vaccine access in Pennsylvania.

As Robert F. Kennedy Jr. challenges vaccine access nationwide, this bill ensures Pennsylvanians can continue to get routine shots at their local pharmacies. It updates state law so decisions are guided by Pennsylvania health experts — not politics.

Protecting Reproductive Freedom In PA

After Roe was overturned, reproductive rights aren’t guaranteed without action — even in Pennsylvania. That’s why I was proud to vote in the PA House to advance a constitutional amendment protecting reproductive freedom and the right to privacy.

The amendment would enshrine decisions about abortion, contraception, and fertility care directly into the Pennsylvania Constitution. If approved by the Senate and voters, it would permanently protect these rights. The bill now moves to the PA Senate for consideration.

Supporting Main Streets & Small Businesses

Strong neighborhoods need strong local businesses. In our recent budget, we passed tax cuts for small businesses and put $20 million into Pennsylvania’s Main Streets.

I also showed my friend, Rep. Jared Solomon, a few of my favorite local spots — like White Yak and Night Kitchen Bakery & Café — because good policy should help the places we love thrive.

Thank you, as always, for the trust you place in me. It is an honor to serve you.

Warmly,
