GOV. SHAPIRO’S BUDGET ADDRESS

On Tuesday, Governor Shapiro laid out a clear, responsible vision for Pennsylvania, one that invests in our people, strengthens our communities, and keeps our economy moving forward WITH NO TAX INCREASES.

I’m encouraged by the focus on jobs, education, and making life more affordable for working families. PA has made progress, but let’s keep building a Pennsylvania that works for everyone. I appreciate the governor’s vision. It's a pathway we can follow through the legislative process to deliver a Pennsylvania people can afford.

ERIE COUNTY IN THE HOUSE

Visitors from Erie County filled my office in Harrisburg this week on the morning before Shapiro’s budget address. It's always rewarding to see familiar faces from back home in the Capitol. It helps reinforce the importance of all the work we're doing in Harrisburg.

HOW WE VOTED

The House returned to session this week. To see how we voted on all measures, go here. Following several weeks of budget hearings, the House is scheduled to return to session from March 23 through 25, unless the House is recalled sooner.

TALKING ABOUT PA’S BUDGET

Hopefully you caught me this week on Erie News Now and JET/FOX/YourErie talking about Gov. Shapiro’s budget proposal, which invests in our people, strengthens our communities, and keeps our economy moving forward with NO TAX INCREASES.

MY BILL PASSES HOUSE

My bill that would add a certified driver rehabilitation specialist to the PennDOT's Medical Advisory Board unanimously passed the House this week.

Right now, people with disabilities who drive are being left out of key decisions that directly affect them. We need to make sure the right people are at the table. Read more here.

POLICY COMMITTEE HEADED TO NEPA

The PA House Democratic Policy Committee hosted its first hearings of the year earlier this month.

In the 2025-26 session we've held 46 hearings across 35 ZIP codes in 15 counties. We had 37 representatives serve as hosts of hearings and roundtables, providing perspectives from around the state.

UP NEXT: The committee travels to Scranton (Lackawanna County) and northeast PA next week to talk about cyber charter reform and health care access.
