SUN Bucks Program Opens Across the State

SUN Bucks, Pennsylvania’s Summer EBT program, is a grocery benefits program that provides households with a one-time payment of $120 for each eligible child to buy food while school is out. Benefits can be used at local participating retailers to purchase groceries.

Many children will get these benefits automatically, but some households may need to apply. The benefits will be added to an existing SNAP/TANF EBT card or a newly issued Summer EBT card.

If your child is automatically eligible, you can expect to receive their SUN Bucks benefit by the end of July. Use the Eligibility Navigator to determine if your child is automatically eligible for SUN Bucks or whether you need to apply. The application submission deadline to receive benefits in 2026 is August 31st.

Got questions? Call the SUN Bucks pre-recorded FAQ line at: 1-877-762-1575.

Huntingdon Valley Women’s Club Celebrates Its 75th Anniversary!

On Thursday, May 21, the Women's Club of Huntingdon Valley (“WCHV”) joyously celebrated its 75th anniversary.

The WCHV was founded in 1951 and its goals were, and remain, to contribute to the community and develop the educational, social and civic interests of its members. In 1952, wanting to contribute to the community, plans were made to start a circulating library. It is through the Club's efforts that the Huntingdon Valley Library was opened in 1953. Since 1958, the Club has awarded an annual scholarship to a deserving, female Lower Moreland High School senior. Through the WCHV’s fundraising efforts, the annual scholarship continues and donations are made in support of the Library and other local organizations, including Laurel House and Nicole's Place in Huntingdon Valley, as well as other women’s shelters.

To celebrate this significant milestone, WCHV members met for a luncheon at the Huntingdon Valley Country Club.

I was an honored guest and graciously joined the celebration. In recognition of its excellence, I presented a Commendation for Community Service to the Club.

For anyone interested in joining the WCHV, luncheon meetings are held September through May on the second Thursday of the month (noon-2pm) at Gloria Dei Fellowship Hall, 570 Welsh Road. To attend, please contact Denise wchv1951@gmail.com.
