Households to Receive LIHEAP Supplement Payment
|
Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Secretary Dr. Val Arkoosh announced that eligible households will receive a $100 supplemental payment from the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
PA DHS will issue the $100 supplemental payments for households that both received LIHEAP during the 2025-26 season and include at least one family member who has a disability, is age 60 or older, or is a child under the age of six. Approximately 193,000 households will be automatically issued a supplemental payment to the same utility vendor who received their cash grant during the normal LIHEAP season. Households will receive a notice informing them that they are eligible and will receive the supplement.

Abington Pre-Night Out Success
|
My staffer, Laura, attended the Abington Pre-Night Out event on Monday in Abington Township. National Night Out is designed to celebrate and strengthen the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement. There was a huge turnout, and we had several people stop by the table to chat and pick up information on programs and events.
Even Governor Shapiro stopped by to say hello!

SEPTA New Bus Network Phase 1 Effective August 23rd
|
SEPTA is rolling out its first comprehensive redesign of SEPTA bus service in the Authority’s history. Phase 1 is scheduled to go into effect on Sunday, August 23rd and Monday, August 24th.
This redesign will deliver more reliable, more frequent, and easier-to-use bus service systemwide, although some individual travel will require adjustment in the redesigned network.
The change that will affect the routes in and around our district will be the discontinuation of Route 80, due to low ridership. Alternate services are available to replace this service, including the 22, 51, 55,72, and 310.
If you use the 80, please check the map below to see which route would be the easiest to replace your current route.
For more information and helpful links for all Phase 1 route/frequency changes, please visit https://wwww.septa.org/initiatives/bus/phase-one/
