Don't miss The PA Farm Show in Harrisburg from January 10th -17th!
This is the largest indoor agricultural event in the nation featuring a massive butter sculpture, livestock competitions, farm animals, and more yummy food than you could ever imagine!
There are new activities to experience every year with hundreds of exhibits showcasing Pennsylvania's agricultural heritage. And don't sleep on the milkshakes - they are THE best!

Retired Status Vehicle Registration Eligibility Increase
|
More PA retirees are now eligible to pay just $12 for their vehicle registration, thanks to a higher income eligibility limit.
Eligibility criteria:
-Be retired and receiving Social Security, SSI payments, retirement benefits, or other pensions and annuities.
-Your total income should be $30,778 or less, including income from business, rental, and unemployment.
-You must be the main driver of the vehicle you're registering, unless you're mentally or physically incapable.
-Your vehicle must weigh 9,000 lbs. or less.
Note: Only one vehicle per qualified applicant may be registered for the retired status fee.

Businesses Encouraged to Sponsor-A-Highway as Tourism Skyrockets in 2026
|
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is encouraging Pennsylvania businesses to help keep the Commonwealth beautiful through its Sponsor-A-Highway program.
The 2026 tourism season – including the NFL Draft, PGA Championship, FIFA World Cup, MLB All-Star Series and America250PA – is expected to bring more than 209 million travelers to Pennsylvania, providing an opportunity for even more people to see the businesses sponsoring roadside cleanup along many of the Commonwealth’s most heavily traveled roadways.

Summer 2026 PA House of Representatives (HOR) Legislative Fellowship Program Now Open for Applications
|
Applications for the 2026 Summer PA HOR Legislative Fellowship Program are now being accepted.
The Fellowship Program is based in Pennsylvania’s Capitol Building in Harrisburg. Fellows are assigned to work in House Standing Committees or House Leadership offices, are compensated for their work (which may also include college credit), and are provided the opportunities to draft and present their own legislation. They also will attend meet-and-greets with various public officials and staff and tour some of the Commonwealth’s historic public spaces. The Summer Semester will run from Thursday, June 4 through Thursday, August 6, 2026.
Qualified applicants will be:
- College undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or law school students;
- Enrolled in a Pennsylvania college/university, or a Pennsylvania resident enrolled in an out-of-state institution; and
- Pursuing any major with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Upper and Lower Moreland Townships awarded PA DEP Grants
|
I am excited to share that both Upper Moreland and Lower Moreland Townships were awarded Recycling Program Performance Grants by the PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
Recycling Program Performance Grants are available to all Pennsylvania local governments with recycling programs. The grant awards are based on the total tons recycled and the applicant's recycling rate.
Upper Moreland was awarded $88,845.27 and Lower Moreland was awarded $34,275.69 – totaling $123,120.96 for the district!
Congratulations to these two townships for their successful recycling performance.

SEPTA Senior Fare Cards for the Philadelphia Flower Show

Planning a trip to the 2026 The Philadelphia Flower Show? SEPTA is a convenient way to get there, especially if you prefer not to drive into the city.
The Flower Show runs February 28–March 8 and is being held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. If you are 65 or older and plan to use SEPTA, please stop by my office as soon as possible. SEPTA Senior passes take approximately 4–6 weeks to arrive by mail.

Expungement Clinic at the Upper Moreland Library

Don't let a prior offense keep you from making a fresh start.
Join me, Senator Maria Collett, and the Montgomery County Public Defenders for our free Expungement Clinic on Wednesday, March 18th, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Upper Moreland Free Public Library. Eligible participants will meet with legal experts who can answer questions and support them through the expungement process.
Appointments are required, and only Montgomery County arrests are eligible. Call Senator Collett's office at 215-368-1429 to secure your time slot before they fill up!
