As we continue to enjoy the summer season, the District 3 team are looking forward to the annual tradition of National Night Out.
This nationwide community building campaign encourages neighborhood associations and community groups to host block parties and gatherings that foster partnerships between residents and law enforcement. These events provide a low-cost way to strengthen relationships, build trust, and create safer, more connected neighborhoods.

Here in Santa Clara County, I have always appreciated the way our communities come together for this special evening. From the wonderful barbecues in North San José to the great gatherings in Milpitas and the lively conversations with old friends in Sunnyvale, each event reflects the strong sense of community that defines our county. National Night Out is an opportunity for friends and neighbors to connect, strengthen relationships with local law enforcement, and celebrate the community spirit that makes our neighborhoods so special.
While the Board is not in session, the D3 office remains fully open and hard at work. The work of public service is never done, and our team remains committed and ready to assist you every day! Wishing you all a wonderful summer filled with time to recharge, connect with loved ones, and enjoy all that our amazing County has to offer.

Final World Cup games! ️⚽️

Over these past few weeks, the FIFA World Cup has touched nearly every corner of life in Santa Clara County.
From hosting world-class matches and welcoming teams from around the globe to the thousands who gathered at lively watch parties, the tournament became more than a sporting event. It became a shared experience.

Spain and France gave us a semifinal filled with brilliance, while England and Argentina reached back through decades of history and rivalry to remind us why this game means so much to so many. Now, as the final approaches, there is just one more night to savor this extraordinary moment.
Years from now, the scorelines may fade, but people will remember the roar of the crowds, the friendships made across flags and cultures, and the feeling that, for one remarkable summer, Santa Clara County welcomed the world and showed the very best of our community.

Parks & Rec Month, City of Sunnyvale 🌲

Every July, communities across the country celebrate Parks and Recreation Month, recognizing the vital role parks and recreation play in strengthening communities, supporting health and well-being, and connecting people with nature.
This year's theme, "The Power Of...", highlights the many ways parks and recreation foster connection, play, belonging, and community.
Whether you're exploring a neighborhood park in Sunnyvale, enjoying trails and open spaces in San José, or participating in a recreation program in Milpitas, July is the perfect time to get outside and experience the many benefits of local parks.
Join Santa Clara County Parks and your local city parks and recreation departments throughout the month for special events, programs, and outdoor activities that bring our communities together.

Movie Nights in the Park 🍿🎬

Enjoy a free movie under the stars with Santa Clara County Parks’ Movie Nights in the Park series!
Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and favorite snacks for an evening filled with fun. Pre-show activities begin before sunset, with movies starting at dusk.
The event is free admission, however, parking is $6.
