Voice in the People’s House

The 2026 General Legislative Session is officially underway, and I’m honored to be back at the Capitol working on your behalf. With only 45 days—the shortest legislative session in the nation—every day matters. I am focused on advancing practical solutions that strengthen our community and ensuring Utah remains a great place to live, work and raise a family.

I encourage you to stay engaged in the process. You can watch committee meetings and floor debates live, view past proceedings, and see daily agendas at le.utah.gov.

District 45 Family Night at the Capitol

Join me for an exclusive tour of the Utah Capitol building on Friday, Jan. 30.  Meet me in the rotunda on the second floor of the Capitol at 5:30.  Bring your family and experience a behind the scenes look at the legislative process.  I hope to see you  there!

Making Life More Affordable For Utah Families

One of the biggest concerns I hear from constituents is the rising cost of living in Utah. I want Utah to remain a place where our young families can thrive.  This year I am sponsoring a bill to expand the child tax credit.  This will allow more families to keep their hard earned money in their pockets to pay for things like diapers, food and childcare.

There will be several bills this session focused on taking action to keep our state affordable and protect your hard-earned dollars.  Proposals include:

  • Reining in the growing property tax burden on homeowners.

  • Ensuring taxpayers have a stronger voice when local governments propose tax increases.

  • Advancing solutions to keep homeownership within reach by supporting infrastructure for new housing, cutting unnecessary red tape, and allowing the free market to meet demand.

  • Pursuing steps to lower gas prices for Utahns.

Our goal is simple: protect your pocketbook, strengthen our communities, and ensure Utah remains a place where families can thrive.

Students at the Capitol

I loved meeting a fourth grade class from Hawthorn Academy.  The students had great questions and I was especially touched by one student who made a bracelet for me. I also enjoyed meeting with the Canyons School District and learning more about their Youth Court program. Seeing how our schools are helping students grow into thoughtful, responsible leaders makes me hopeful for the future.

Fair Pricing, Stronger Consumer Protections

As a Legislature, we’re fighting to help Utah families avoid hidden fees and know exactly what they’re paying so you can shop with confidence. HB29 requires businesses to clearly display the total price of a product or service and ensures that any mandatory fees are fully disclosed and not misleading.
