In this week’s newsletter, I’m happy to share my presentation of a $150,000 grant to Centennial Station for improvements, as well as recognize Suicide Prevention Month, and provide details regarding various state programs that you may be able to take advantage of.
Additionally, my office will be closed September 4th and 7th in observance of Labor Day and will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 8th.

Proud to Support Workers on the Issues That Matter |

As Labor Day approaches, I’m proud to say that my House colleagues and I have been fighting for PA workers on the issues that really matter. Here’s just a sample of bills we’ve advanced:
I’ve also supported recent state budgets that help eligible working families keep more of what they earn and make significant investments in workforce training, apprenticeships, and career pathways.
I greatly appreciate the contributions that all of our workers make to our communities and economy. You deserve respect and recognition for your hard work and I hope you’re able to take the day to relax and recharge this Labor Day.

Presenting $150,000 grant to Centennial Station |

Last week, I was thrilled to present a $150,000 grant to Centennial Station for much-needed improvements to “No Name Road” and their tennis/pickleball court.

September is Suicide Prevention Month |
|
|
Suicide is a difficult thing for people to talk about, and those who are suffering from suicidal thoughts or suicidal ideations are many times afraid to speak up; this month is about raising awareness about suicide, promoting resources, and ending the stigma surrounding mental health issues.

Notice of Upcoming Medicaid Changes |
|
|
Changes to Medicaid, also known as Medical Assistance in Pennsylvania, are coming on January 1, 2027, because of changes to federal law. More information is expected to be released, but here is what you need to know for now:
If you receive Medicaid, now is a good time to make sure your mailing address and contact information are up to date with DHS so you don’t miss important notices about these changes. For more information about the new Medicaid requirements, click here. |

Last week, state health officials reported the first two measles-associated deaths in Pennsylvania in 35 years and outlined a statewide effort to protect residents.
Since the April outbreak, there have been 393 confirmed cases across 28 counties. Access to the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine has expanded, with more than 4,100 vaccinations delivered at 91 pop-up clinics and 40 more clinics planned. In July 2026 alone, more than 35,000 Pennsylvanians received the MMR vaccine—about 10,000 more than in a typical month.
If you or your children are unvaccinated or unsure of your status, please schedule an MMR vaccination as soon as possible; two doses provide about 97% lifetime protection. If you believe you were exposed and develop a fever, cough, runny nose, red or watery eyes, or a rash that starts on the head and spreads downward, isolate and contact your healthcare provider or call DOH at 877-PA-HEALTH (877-724-3258). PA Able expands their age limit |
|
|
The PA ABLE Savings Program has expanded its age limit, allowing thousands more Pennsylvanians with disabilities to save tax free for their futures. Individuals whose disability began before age 46—up from the previous limit of 26—can now open an account without jeopardizing essential benefits like Medical Assistance (Medicaid) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
Since 2017, more than 11,500 Pennsylvanians have saved nearly $185 million through PA ABLE. Participants can contribute up to $20,000 annually, use funds for a wide range of disability-related expenses, and deduct contributions from Pennsylvania state income taxes.

State Police Recruiting New Troopers: Apply by September 30 |
|
|
The Pennsylvania State Police is expanding opportunities for students and aspiring law enforcement professionals through partnerships with colleges and universities. Through the Academy Internship Program, eligible college seniors can complete their final semester at the PSP Academy, earn academic credits, and begin their careers as a trooper after successfully completing cadet training.
As a former police officer, I can attest to the honor and purpose that come with serving in law enforcement, and I encourage qualified individuals to consider applying.
Interested students must apply by Sept. 30.
The 2026-27 state budget provides funding for approximately 380 new cadet appointments, reinforcing efforts to strengthen public safety and recruit the next generation of troopers. Learn more at https://patrooper.com/. |
