We came together to fight the PECO proposed rate hike and we won, saving PA consumers $510 million on utility bills! We couldn't have done this, however, without all of you who called, wrote, and signed the petition to stop the increase!
I will continue fighting to keep essential services affordable and reliable.

Working In Harrisburg, Working for You
|
Last week, we convened in Harrisburg for Session. There were several committee meetings and discussions on pending legislation.
One hot topic of discussion is Data Centers in our Pennsylvania communities. Data Centers aren’t coming to Pennsylvania; they are already here. We need to make sure if Data Centers come to Montgomery County and to District 152, we are protecting families, holding big tech accountable, and allowing community leaders to make decisions that will impact their communities.
I voted YES on a package of three bills that will create transparency, accountability, and keep the power in the hands of the people. HB 1834, HB 2150, and HB 2151 will help families by preventing data center developers from passing electric infrastructure costs onto residents and small businesses, by making sure data centers are reporting their water and energy usage to the Department of Environmental Protection, and by providing local elected officials with optional ordinance language they can use, if they choose to, on standards for noise, location, equipment, and building design.
I am proud to vote on legislation that doesn’t stop progress, it protects it.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
|
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is organized by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to provide a safe, convenient, and anonymous way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs.
This helps prevent medications from being diverted into the wrong hands, reducing the risk of abuse, addiction, and overdose.

PA Industry Partner Grants Awarded
|
The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry announced Industry Partnership (IP) grant awards totaling over $2.8 million to 10 organizations across the Commonwealth.
Three of these grants were awarded to organizations that serve our constituents here in Montgomery County.
The Smart Energy Initiative of Southeastern PA will help companies navigate new energy laws and “site-ready” requirements, address energy distribution challenges affecting business operations, and prepare for emerging opportunities in micro-nuclear, geothermal, and other high-growth clean-energy sectors. The actions will directly help employers and job seekers and align supports to strengthen Pennsylvania’s energy sector.
The Keystone LifeSci Collaborative will implement activities that strengthen employer competitiveness, expand equitable talent pipelines, and retain skilled workers by aligning infrastructure, early awareness, and career transition support. The partnership will establish a regional talent hub platform, develop industry professionals to represent the industry, and provide support to retain and re-engage displaced life science professionals.
Health Care Connect will continue to build on existing initiatives in strengthening pathways that inspire interest in healthcare careers and equip participants with the critical skills necessary for clinical practice. The three pillars of partnership activities will focus on next generation engagement, professional development and leadership training, and succession planning and organizational stability.
Congratulations to the grantees and many thanks for the work your programs do for the communities in the 152nd!

Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) Grant Awarded
|
The Resilience Resource Center (RRC) in Huntingdon Valley, PA has received a $40,000 grant through the PCCD’s VIP program.
This grant will help support a part-time Youth Access Monitor/Coordinator to supervise all program hours; supplies and operating expenses including space rental, food, program materials, technology accessories, and administrative tools; and consultant services for specialized group facilitation in resilience-building, mental-health, and career exploration. Indirect costs will also be supported.
This funding will expand their existing LGBTQIA+ youth programming into a five-days-per-week out-of-school-time model serving youth ages 11–18 across Montgomery County and adjacent Philadelphia ZIP codes. This expansion aims to address limited access to safe, affirming after-school environments, elevated social isolation, and heightened risks associated with harassment, stigma, and unsupervised after-school hours.
Funding will transform RRC’s current once-weekly youth program into a consistent, supervised, relationship-based evening program operating from 3–8pm year-round, providing structured academic support, technology access, resilience-building activities, peer connection, and early career-readiness experiences.
For more information on the Resilience Resource Center, visit Resilience Resource Center | LGBTQ community | 2337 Philmont Avenue, Huntingdon Valley, PA, USA.
Congratulations to the Resilience Resource Center and the good work they continue to do in our community!
