$900K STATE GRANT FOR ERIE COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE

The state approved a $900,000 investment for Erie County Community College Wednesday.

SAFETY UPGRADES FOR MILLCREEK

The state approved a $209,204 project in Millcreek Township to improve pedestrian safety while connecting sections of the community to popular public spaces and schools.
This investment ensures it will be safer and easier for students, families, citizens and visitors to get where they need to go. This project will close a critical gap, connecting people with popular destinations in our neighborhoods, including local parks, schools and Presque Isle State Park. Read more here.

CRISSCROSSING PENNSYLVANIA
|
It's hard to chart a path without knowing where you are, or where you came from. Speaker of the House Rep. Joanna McClinton brought some other trailblazing legislative leaders from across the country together last week to talk about our democracy - it's past, present and future.
The challenges to democracy didn't end 250 years ago, and what we cherish today requires hard work and sacrifice. It was helpful to learn more about measures taken in other states to protect the gains made over the years, and to explore how we can make progress here in PA so that every registered voter has convenient access to secure elections. The panel discussion was held at Philadelphia's historic Mother Bethel AME Church and reflected our nation's democratic journey.
As chairman of the House Majority Policy Committee, I serve on the House Majority Leadership team and crisscross the state listening to members of our local communities and working on solutions that make it easier for working families. The committee has held 81 hearings across 53 neighborhoods so far this legislative session, with 54 different leaders hosting events.
UP NEXT: The committee travels to Philadelphia, Easton (Northampton County) and Morrisville (Bucks County) next week.

The House returned to session last week, traveling to Philadelphia for a special session to honor America 250 in historic Congress Hall.
